
Perforated Plate Corrugated Structured Packing in Vacuum Refinery Units

Product Description: Stainless Steel Perforated Plate Corrugated Structured Packing is made from sheet metal (0.1-0.2mm thick). Its structure retains the corrugated features of wire mesh corrugated packing, but with a larger equivalent diameter for universal application. Thin metal sheets with small holes are punched (punched) into corrugated sheet metal with grooves. The corrugated sheet metal is assembled into disc-shaped packing blocks using the same assembly method as wire mesh corrugated sheets. These blocks are arranged in a uniform geometric pattern within the tower and neatly stacked. This structure defines the gas-liquid flow path, improves channeling and wall flow, minimizes pressure drop, and provides a greater specific surface area, achieving higher mass and heat transfer within the same volume.

Application of Stainless Steel Perforated Plate Corrugated Structured Packing in Atmospheric and Vacuum Refinery Units
Example of Atmospheric and Vacuum Refinery Retrofit:
Case 5: The atmospheric tower at the Daqing Oilfield Chemical Reagent Plant is a float valve tower with a main tower diameter of 3.2m and a designed processing capacity of 200x10t/a. After commissioning, actual production capacity, light oil yield, and product quality did not meet design requirements. To improve the unit's processing capacity, product quality, and yield, a technical modification was conducted. With the exception of trays 13-33, all remaining sections employed structured packing. The top circulation section employed ceramic structured packing with stainless steel internals. The naphtha/kerosene fractionation section employed corrugated metal plate packing and a narrow-groove liquid distributor, while the oil wash section employed ceramic structured packing and a narrow-groove liquid distributor. The flash section employed a 360-degree bell-mouth gas feed distributor, and the stripping section employed corrugated metal plate packing. After the modification, all operating indicators of the atmospheric tower met design requirements. At a processing capacity of 6,000t/day, the tower achieved a 34% pull-out rate, producing qualified product soon after startup.
