Examples of Atmospheric and Vacuum Refinery Retrofits:
Case 1: The third atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit at Daqing Petrochemical General Plant is designed to process 350x10 tons of Daqing crude oil annually. Its vacuum tower is currently the largest lubricating oil-type vacuum tower in China, with a main tower diameter of 8.2 meters and a feed section diameter of 10 meters. To address the quality issues of heavy lubricating oil base oil, high-efficiency plate corrugated packing, equipped with narrow-groove liquid distributors and scrubbing nozzles, was used in the fractionation section between the third and fourth distillation lines and the scrubbing section below the fourth distillation line. Since commissioning, the packing has achieved excellent results, with pressure drops in the fractionation and scrubbing sections of the third and fourth distillation lines less than 133.3 Pa. This represents an effective solution to the current quality issues facing heavy lubricating oil fractions in my country.
Case 2: The 500x10 tons/year atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit at Daqing Lianyi Petrochemical General Plant utilizes plate corrugated packing in the upper section (1.6 meters in diameter) and the lower section (3 meters in diameter). The vacuum tower is a multifunctional fuel-chemical-lubricant tower. It can not only provide qualified catalytic cracking feedstock with the highest extraction rate, but also provide qualified lubricating base oil 200SN through the vacuum line. The device can adjust the production plan according to market needs, thereby improving economic benefits.
