We know that the working principle of Oxygen generators is pressure swing adsorption. The pore size of N2 and O2 is different, molecular sieve will separate them under different pressure, and produce high purity of O2. There is no heating system in such PSA. Therefore, the air must be treated before inlet, like oil, moisture and some impurities removal. This step could protect molecular sieve performance very well.
If contaminated with oil, molecular sieve will be damaged, as the oil will block the pores of the sieve.
If contaminated with moisture, we can regenerate at 450 °C, for 1 hour.
As you know the sieve will be lost while long-term use, due to the pollution source uncertain, loss uncertain, thus, we can't make it as good as the new material after regeneration. That's why the air treated in advance is important.
Hence, please inspect the machines and oxygen output regularly. We should stop working once occur any abnormal situation, to avoid the sieve being damaged.
