Carbon molecular sieve (CMS) is a new and one of the few non-polar adsorbent that specializes in separating oxygen from nitrogen under the normal temperature and pressure, also it is an important part in natural gas processing. This process is done with a PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) device. Carbon molecular sieve can adsorbing material with molecular size less than 10 angstroms, which normal activated carbon can not do accurately. Carbon Molecular sieve can be applied in many different fields, such as petroleum chemical industry, metal heat treatment, electronic, and as preservative in food products etc.Our CMS products have the characters of high nitrogen yield capacity and nitrogen recovery rate which can meet all types of PSA nitrogen systems requirements.

What is the working condition control of carbon molecular sieves?

A/ Temperature Control

1, Adsorption temperature: The adsorption performance of carbon molecular sieves is significantly affected by temperature. Generally speaking, low temperatures are conducive to the adsorption process. At normal or lower temperatures, carbon molecular sieves have a larger adsorption capacity for certain gases and better adsorption effects.

2, Desorption temperature: The desorption process requires an increase in temperature to enable the adsorbed gas molecules to obtain sufficient energy to desorb from the pores of the carbon molecular sieve. The desorption temperatures vary for different gas and carbon molecule systems.

B/ Pressure Control

1, Adsorption pressure: Increasing the adsorption pressure is beneficial for the adsorption of gases on carbon molecules. Higher pressure can make it easier for gas molecules to enter the pores of carbon molecular sieves, increasing the adsorption capacity and adsorption rate.

2, Desorption pressure: During the desorption process, the pressure needs to be reduced to shift the adsorption equilibrium towards the desorption direction. By reducing the pressure to atmospheric pressure or negative pressure, the adsorbed gas can be released from the carbon molecular sieve, achieving the regeneration of the carbon molecular sieve.
