What are the effects of molecular sieves on VPSA oxygen generators?
Molecular sieves are mainly used for drying, purification and separation of gases and liquids. They work because
1. They can screen out molecules larger than their own pore size.
2. Molecular sieves strongly adsorb all polar molecules.
For the same oxygen-generating molecular sieve, lithium-based is more efficient than sodium-based and calcium-based, and is generally twice as efficient as ordinary oxygen-generating molecular sieves under the same conditions. The uses of the above three types of oxygen-generating molecular sieves are also different. Lithium-based oxygen-generating molecular sieves are mainly used for VPSA (vacuum pressure swing adsorption).
Sodium- and calcium-based oxygen-generating molecular sieves are mainly used for PSA (pressure swing adsorption). The two processes are very different, and the comprehensive energy consumption of lithium-based oxygen-generating molecular sieves is the lowest. Due to the complex production process of calcium-based oxygen-generating molecular sieves and many problems such as excessive product dust, they are gradually replaced by the other two molecular sieves. Therefore, choosing the right molecular sieve can not only reduce power consumption, but also improve the purity of oxygen production.
